Care at home
What is non-medical home care?
It is help with everyday life rather than medical treatment: personal care, companionship, meals, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and getting around safely. For clinical needs, we help you coordinate with the right medical provider.
What do your caregivers help with?
Bathing, dressing and grooming, meals made the way your loved one likes them, medication reminders, laundry and light housekeeping, errands, walks, and real company. We also provide escorted rides to appointments. See Care at home and Transportation.
Can you help with dementia or memory loss?
Yes. Our caregivers support older adults with memory changes through calm routines, patient companionship, and a consistent, familiar face, which matters enormously when memory is fragile.
Can care start right after a hospital stay?
Yes, and it often helps to plan before the discharge date. Call us as soon as you know it is coming, and we will work around the first days home. Our guide Preparing for a hospital discharge has a checklist.
Caregivers
Will my loved one have the same caregiver each visit?
Yes, and it is the heart of what we do. We match one caregiver to your family and keep that match, with backup coverage that keeps the schedule intact when life happens.
How are caregivers screened?
Every caregiver is background checked and trained before they ever set foot in your home. We match by personality and routine, not just availability.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Solura is a licensed Ohio home care agency, license number 4574HHN, insured and bonded.
Hours and areas
Is there a minimum number of hours?
Care starts at 5 hours a week. From there, plans grow to whatever your family needs, from a little weekly companionship to daily help.
What areas do you serve?
Cuyahoga, Lake, and Lorain counties, throughout Greater Cleveland. See Areas we serve, or just ask if you are not sure about your town.
How does the transportation service work?
We provide safe, punctual rides to appointments and back, with door-through-door help the whole way. Unlike a rideshare, our caregiver helps from inside the home, into the vehicle, through the appointment, and home again.
Cost and paying
How much does home care cost?
Most families pay between $32 and $36 an hour, depending on the schedule, the hours each week, and the help needed. You get an exact rate in writing after a free consultation. More on Paying for care.
How do we pay for care?
Care is private pay. We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, and ACH bank transfer.
Do you work with long-term care insurance?
Yes. Most policies pay you back after you pay for care. We provide what your insurer asks for from the agency: itemized monthly invoices, visit notes, our license, and our tax ID, and we help with the provider sections of claim forms. Your insurer decides what the policy covers. See how it works.
Can VA benefits help pay for care?
They can. VA Aid and Attendance is a monthly payment added to a VA pension for veterans and surviving spouses who need help with daily life. It is paid to your family, and you can use it to pay for care at home. We provide a written statement of care hours and costs for the application. See VA benefits.
Do you take Medicare or Medicaid?
No. Solura is private pay, so we do not bill Medicare or Medicaid. Many families pay directly, or use long-term care insurance or VA benefits to help.
Getting started
How do we get started?
Answer a few easy questions to start your care plan, or call (216) 770-4886. We listen, visit, and build a plan, then care begins with the same caregiver each time.
Who will we be talking to?
A care coordinator from our local team. Your care coordinator takes your first call, sets up the plan and the caregiver match, and stays your point of contact once care begins.
What should we have ready for the first call?
Nothing is required, but it helps to know the days and times you are thinking about, the main things your loved one needs help with, their usual routine and diet, and any insurance or benefit details. Please keep medical details for the call rather than online forms.
When can we reach you?
Our office is open Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. You can start your care plan online at any time, and we will reach out during office hours.

Still have a question?
We would rather answer it than leave you guessing. A care coordinator is glad to talk it through.
